How I got here

Key stations of my career

Early stage

At age 12 I got my hands on an old Commodore 64. I got bored by video games quite fast and began to explore the primitive Basic compiler. At 16, during a Greece vacation, I bought a magazine about HTML, which led me to early web development.

Freelancing

I started a small business at age 18, while still in school. I built countless websites for local businesses. The CMS of that time felt unmaintainable for my clients, so I developed a first draft of a CMS framework, which I used for all my future development.

Zoom7

Before I finished my studies of Applied Informatics, I founded my first tech company with a study colleague. Quickly we became a household name for custom web applications. Our technology stack of that time was Ruby on Rails in the backend and Ember for the frontend.

Startups

During most of my professional career I built startups on the side. Most of them failed early, but some were quite successfully and some even got sold to investors or clients.
